Our Story
GOING TO A GOOD HOME helps many people in many ways. We help disadvantaged families and homeless people in need in the North West of England to get back on track and back home. Our cause helps people set up home through the provision of pre-loved furniture.
Backed by local business and community donations, who provided funds, support and furniture, our aim is to help to people in need furnish housing.
Going To A Good Home is a multi-functional community enterprise with multi-focussed objectives and was set up in 2014 in Hyndburn in Lancashire (the eighth most deprived ward in Britain).
Environmentally, we prevent re-useable furniture going to landfill and reduce the volume of waste by recycling ‘pre-loved’ (used) sofas, suites and other furniture by redistributing it to those who need it most.
We work in partnership with social services, local charities and community projects. Occupying previously empty local buildings Going To A Good Home breathes life and regeneration into disused spaces.
